In Alden, Michigan, a stone's throw from Torch Lake, there is a delightful flower shop edging Torch Lake Drive: A Stone's Throw Flower Shop. Its outdoor walkway lures you with overflowing pots of luscious summer flowers.

Bright pinks and emerald greens combine in a splashy composition of fabulous Japanese peonies blooming in my neighbor's garden. The original composition was shown in the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society annual competion.

Soft greens, pale lavenders and yellows combine in a composition of grand irises in full bloom. This was painted along a road called Logan's Crossing in Connellsville, Pennsylvania in a dear friends garden.

A summer visit to Mackinac Island near the bridge to the Upper Peninsula in Northern Michigan is a throw back in time to the days of horse drawn carriages and buggies. The streets are lined with white cottages and brimming with vibrant gardens. This little porch front view is one of many charming omes that make up the quaint village as you leave the city of Mackinac.

Outside of my bay window we had the most wonderful pink blooming Dogwood that delighted me every spring.

A wooded scene painted in early November when the colors had lost their brilliance, but the fog rolled through giving a misty feeling to the landscape.

This fall landscape was captured on the wooded grounds of the beautiful landmark home designed by Frank Lloyd Wright called Falling Water in Southwestern Pennsylvania. The home, built for the Kauffman family, and grounds are open to the public. I enjoyed shooting photography that day, capturing a moment in which the sunlight streamed through the trees.
